If you’re new to the area or if you just need a reminder, there’s now a thin layer of wet leaves on the road and here’s how much contact your car actually has with the asphalt.

My car weighs about 5000 pounds and my recommended tire pressure is 35 pounds per square inch. If you divide the 5000 by 35 you will get about 140 square inches. So that is my contact patch with the road. Divide that by 4 for your four corners and you get 35 square inches per corner. And that is an area about 6″x 6″, that’s the size of a brownie pan or a frisbee.

So if you put a brownie pan on a layer of wet leaves and push it you won’t get much friction, and it will go flying.

Simple solution, just slow down. Please.
